Although the rock climbing invite was tempting, I was really craving a relaxed day, and ended up just going a beach day with the German girl in my room. We caught a long tail boat in the morning to Railay Beach, about 10-15 mins away. We got to the beach and walked away from the main beach to check out other areas. We ended up coming across the big cave on one end of the island, which had a nice beach with not a lot of people! It was beautiful, with crystal clear water and white sand beach. We swam for a bit and laid out, but slowly noticed lots of boats and tourists coming in and out. It seemed like this was a stop on some sort of island hopping tour.

We got hungry and walked a bit down the beach around lunchtime looking for food. We soon came across some long tail boats outfitted with food, it was a cool concept and nice and convenient! We had some food and then continued down the beach trying to find a way back to the main area. We were hoping to find another beach to hang out at since the one before got a bit crowded. Although we didn't find a way back to the main road, we did find some long tail boats transporting people, and just beyond them was a clear patch of beach with just a few people! It was the perfect secluded area.

We spent the rest of the day just hanging out and it was perfect. The water was so clear and warm and the limestone cliffs were gorgeous; I could have hung out there all forever. Around 3 we started to get a bit tired from the sun and decided to head back, figuring we still had a good half hour way ahead of us to the beach we got dropped off at. However, as we were walking by the long tail boats we saw before, we heard someone say "ao nang," and we decided to stop and ask if our ticket was good here too. It was! Literally perfect.

We got back to ao nang and I decided to stop and ask about a ticket to koh phi phi for the following day. I was pretty on the fence about koh phi phi, I heard it is beautiful but I also heard it is literally one giant party island, and all the bad reviews for the hostels in the area collaborated that. Turns out, tomorrow was the kings funeral, and it was a public holiday in Thailand so there was no transportation available! I was surprised but also kind of relieved, making me feel like it was better to skip phi phi. I was also getting tired of moving around a ton and just wanted to relax somewhere for a while.

I went back and showered and I just hang out in the AC for a bit to figure out my game plan. I still really wanted to try and make it to phuket for the Similan Islands scuba trip, but my ear still wasn't feeling better and on top of that my stomach was also starting to hurt (unsure if it was related or not). I had emailed the clinic I went to in Langkawi, who was surprised the antibiotics weren’t working yet and advised me to go for a follow up as I likely need different antibiotics. I ended up getting a bit sick and then decided at that point that I would stay in krabi another night and skip koh phi phi, instead going to the doctor tomorrow to get a follow up.
