Woke up with it raining cats and dogs. I knew it was supposed to be bad weather all day, so didn't plan too much besides lounging, eating, and getting a massage :) After trying to sleep in a bit I went searching for food. It started raining pretty hard while I was there, so I picked up an iced coffee and made my way back to the hostel to chill for a while.

In the afternoon, I decided to go try one of those traditional Thai massages. I was planning on going to the famous place in chiang mai that is run by woman prisoners with less than 6 months left, as a way for them to earn money before being discharged. But, it started raining again, and I stopped at another spa that was on the way. It says that this one employees ex prisoners as a way to keep them employed and making money, but part of my questions if that is just a marketing plot based on the famous prison spa. Anyways, the massage was so great and total worth the $8!!

Although I was planning on a low key night before my early flight to Vietnam in the morning, I heard about the Saturday night market and decided to head over with one of the girls in my hostel to check it out. It was so big and hectic, lots of vendors and lots of yummy food!! Ended up buying a $4.50 piece of art from a local artist (an elephant sketch) and I totally love it!

Overall, chiang mai was a great city and I loved it just as much as everyone said I would.
